RUNNING MY RACE
Have you ever had this feeling?
“I am a child of my dad and mum. If you know, you know. I also have siblings who love me dearly. I am well cared for. I have been feeling that I can’t do without my dad, mum and siblings – not even for one day.
I was surprised to see that, one day, they dropped me in a boarding school, and they went back home without me. Can you believe it? I thought: Are they serious? Can they really do without me? Maybe they can. But I felt (and somehow still do) that I couldn’t (or better said) cannot do without them. But I saw there were a few other children who had been left behind too. Some of them were smaller than I was.
A senior student came to me and told me that they too were small when they started. They told me that life is a race to run. And each one has his/her own race. No one can run for you. Begin running your race.”
Is this you? Know that you are not alone. One day, people will be looking up to you and will think they cannot do without you. That is your race. Make a good start of it now, because you will have to run it; all the way.
